We are gay
surfers that live near Beach19. We have a great view
of the sunset and surf almost every day. We really enjoy the
beaches here since they are not overcrowded with foreigners
and they have the right atmosphere for relaxed beachfun.
We speak fluently: Dutch, English, German and Portuguese

| Lisbon downtown is the place to start
a nights out. Many restaurants are waiting for you with delicious
food and the best wine. After midnight clubs start to live up
and the nightcrowd find it's way to trendy bars and clubs like

| A useful place to contact is the Centro
Comunitário Gay e Lesbica de Lisboa, at Rua
de São Lazaro 88 in Lisbon, contactable on 218 873 918,
which arranges gay events in the town and can advise on similar
activities in other destinations, perhaps providing contacts
or at least pointing you in the right direction for more information.
In Lisbon you will find several gay bars, community centres,
restaurants, saunas and even beaches. The best place to go is
the Bairro Alto or the Praça do Prínçipe
Real where the relaxed atmosphere in the clubs and bars is a
welcome change to the rest of Portugal. Although scenes of homophobic
violence are rare, discrimination at work and at school is reported
regularly. |

| Beach19-tour |
For you guys that want something special
we have the Beach19-tour!! The best introduction to
gay-Lisbon. We have 2 options for you:
-day-tour (4 hours), including city tour with links to the gaybars
and clubs, the touristic highlights and ofcourse lunch at the
beach19 gaybeach (all included)
-night-tour (3 hours), including dinner (optional with fado-singing),
a nightwalk and visit to the most famous gay bars and clubs.
The tours are beeing done by goodlooking locals
that are happy to inform you all about the ins and outs, the
no's and yes's. You'll be updated and make new friends easely!!

| Gay Pride Lisbon |
| The Gay Pride Festival (Arraial Gay e Lésbico)
takes place in Lisbon on the Saturday nearest the 28th June
with the support of the city authorities and it has become quite
a popular event. In the last fortnight of September there is
a Gay and Lesbian film festival (Festival de Cinema Gay e Lésbico
de Lisboa). Porto and Leiria had their first Gay Pride marches
in 2001 and the Algarve is becoming increasingly sympathetic
to gay venues. Outside Lisbon, however, you may find that these
keep a low profile. |
