Cruising
In Lisbon and Costa da Caparica you can cruise at different spots. The best spots are the Lisbon University and Beach19.

Be aware that although cruising in Portugal is commonly accepted and kind of everyday business, in some places from now and then people tend to react quite hostile when confronted with it. So try act not to 'flashy' since the Portuguese gaymen are not that open about their gayness yet.

 
Sauna's

There are 3 known gaysauna's in Lisbon. But don't expect nicely, clean, well build ones. They are all run down, kinda dirty sauna's. Most of them are opened all days a week.

Sauna Spartacus
Largo Trindade Coelho, 2
In the middle of Bairro Alto, close to the gay bars, situated in an old building with 4 levels. Dirty, dirty but well visited and convinient situated. 24/7 opened.

Sauna Viriato
Rua do Telhal, 4-B
Two levels of 2 sauna's and cabins. Big (cold watered) swimmingpool. Kindy rundown. Between 16.00 and 20.00 visited by office- and family gays.

Sertorio
Calcada da Patriacal, 34
Well situated near parc principe real, near the gay clubs. After 4 AM it's busy with after party guys.
 
Where to go
Universidade Lisboa
A friendly place to cruise with a mixed crowd of young and older gaymen. Everything is done by car going around and around and around the university buildings

Parque Eduardo VII 
A place near a park in the middle of Lisbon with some young prostitutes on the bridge. Became quite dangerous to cruise alone since some years.

Cais de Belem
Near the yacht harbor, next to the ferry-exit is a small parking place where gaymen cruise. Reachable by foot or car from Lisbon city it's open space and quite safe.

Beach19
The best place to cruise is beach19. With the beach nearby and loads of young and older hunks that go for a cruise over the dunes it's all day long busy. In winter it's the parking where all the action is going on. Stay away from the bushes after dark.
